The other sacred event in Jainism is Paryushan Parva Rambha, which is celebrated by Swetambara and Digambara for 8-10 days respectively. According to the beliefs, people performing the rituals attain Moksha and their level of spirituality increases while performing fasts and praying. The other big festival celebrated by Jains is Diwali. As per the beliefs, Lord Mahavir attained Moksha on that day. This is also considered as a start of a new year of Jains. Those who own their business also commence their financial year from this day itself according to their tradition. There are mostly four types of fasting popular in Jainism.
