Jain Calendar 2020: Significance of Jain Religion

Jain Calendar 2020 consists of festivals and fasts like Shri Mahavir Jayanti, Paryushan Parva Rambha, Diwali, Mahavir Nirvana and so on. • Partial Fasting

Jains avoid ginger-garlic, and onion while keeping this fast, give up their taste and start surviving only on essential things.

• Vruti Sankshepa

  Vruti Sankshepa is the third type of fasting, in which consumption of items gets limited. A person gives up a particular food item for the rest of his/her life.

• Rasa Parityaga

  In this type of fasting, food items are also given up. However, the difference is only that you have to give up your favourite food item. The concept behind this type of fasting is minimizing the need of resources so that it can be used for the other betterment or for one who is needy. In today’s scenario, resources are minimum and animals are also not getting proper diet. Thus, by doing this fasting, we give our contribution to someone needy.
